Thanks for stopping by. This site highlights the music of Ernie Thacker. Ernie Hacker's voice one of the most resilient voices in bluegrass.

Ernie has worked on several projects including (Freeland Records), (Doobie Shea Records), and on the old Doobie Shea label. His voice can be heard on Ricky Simpkins project I'm Not a Miner.

He toured and recorded with Ralph Stanley's Clinch Mountain Boys. After leaving Ralph Stanley he and Junior Blankenship formed a group and did some touring. He formed his band Route 23 recording for Crosscut Records and Doobie Shea Records. While at Doobie Shea Records, Thacker sung the National Anthem before a NASCAR Nationwide Race in Daytona.

On April 18, 2006 Ernie was involved in a near fatal accident in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia. He has been down but not out from the accident. His courage and resolve along with prayers cars and letters from fans have kept him going.
